A traditional herb that has many uses as a medicinal herb, culinary herb, liquer herb and as a bee feeder for an aromatic honey.
It has a strong and slightly bitter flavour and partners well with other strong flavoured herbs like oregano, rosemary, sage and thyme.
Add fresh young leaves to stews, sauces, soups and with game meats like duck, venison and oily fish. Leaves can be made into tea which was used by traditional herbalists as a cough suppressant and also as a mild antiseptic.
