BURGUNDY BLAZE
Grevillea "Burgundy Blaze" is an excellent example of a drought tolerant and versatile Grevillea hybrid that is suitable for growing in most places in Australia.
It is a dense medium garden shrub, with a spectacular display of vibrant pink/red flowers, and is excellent as a specimen shrub or hedging plant responding marvellously to pruning. garden hybrid originating on the far south coast of NSW, it mass flowers from early winter through to late spring. Honeyeaters and native bees find this robust plant hard to resist and congregate en masse throughout the flowering season. The beautiful soft arching foliage, which is a deep burgundy bronze when young, is carried the plant year round and is an added bonus when the plant is not in flower.
"Burgundy Blaze" grows and flowers best in full sun and is tolerant of sandy loam soils through to clay loam soils. Alternatively it makes a fine large pot specimen, using a premium Australian native potting mix.
"Burgundy Blaze" is a hardy plant, tolerating extended dry periods and heavy frosts. After establishment in the ground, "Burgundy Blaze" requires no extra watering.
