Blueberry Lily, also known as Blue flax Lily, produces attractive pale purple / blue flowers above the foliage followed by edible bright blue berries with tiny, nutty seeds. The firm, strappy leaves were traditionally used for cord and string and the roots can be eaten raw or roasted.
This species is a very hardy evergreen and is generally free from pests and diseases, resistant to drought and frost and recovers quickly from fire.
