Apple ‘Sundowner’ is a much-loved Australian variety, prized for its crisp texture, balanced sweet-tart flavour and excellent keeping qualities. Ripening late in the season, ‘Sundowner’ produces attractive medium to large red apples with firm, juicy flesh that’s perfect for fresh eating, baking and cooking.

This reliable, heavy-bearing apple tree is well suited to home gardens and performs best in a sunny position with good air circulation. As a potted tree, it’s ideal for planting out year-round and can also be grown in large containers with the right care.

Pollination:
‘Sundowner’ is not self-fertile and requires a compatible pollinator to produce fruit. Suitable pollinators include Granny Smith, Pink Lady (Cripps Pink), Fuji, Gala, or Red Delicious. Planting more than one apple variety will improve fruit set and yields.
