Botanical Name: Phaseolusvulgaris
One of the best flavoured Dwarf French Beans there is. It produces heavy yields of glossy purple stringless beans. The pods change colour to an appetizing dark green colour when cooked. Half-hardy annual.
We hope you enjoy these bean seeds, just another great example of vegetable seeds from Mr Fothergill's!
Plant Height: 50-60cm
How To Grow Sow seeds 25mm (2in) deep, 7-10cm apart into dark, damp soil. Avoid watering for 2-3 days afterwards. Ensure soil has been prepared with organic compost & aged animal manure.
Allow 50cm between rows. Ensure danger of frost has passed & protect from wind.
Water regularly. Additional fertilising is not required as legumes produce their own nitrogen.
Regular harvest will result in prolonged yields. Best picked when young.
When To Plant Late Spring to Autumn
Harvest 8-10 weeks.
Sow Spring, Summer
Important Note During periods of hot & humid weather spray flowers with a fine mist. This will assist with flower & pod set.
