Gymea Lily or Spear Lily
This Australian native occurs naturally along the central coast of NSW. A hardy plant, Wyndham Council have used this as the feature plant in the medium strip on entry to Werribee's town centre on Princes Hwy/Synnot St.
The upright strip foliage stays neat giving way to an impressive red flower that towers over the foliage by up to 3 - 4 metres. Nectar feeding native birds love their flowers.
