Preparation & Planting Guide

Remove or spray all weeds. Dig a hole twice the width of the container and 2-3 times as deep. Remove a spade full of soil and replace with low phosphate fertilized potting mix and mix with existing soil. Make sure soil is to a fine tilth. Add Gypsum to clay soils and mound garden beds. Remove plant from pot and tease out root ball gently. If the root ball requires more than a gentle teasing then the plant should be lightly tip pruned. Plant and backfill with friable soil and firm down. Water thoroughly. Stake if neces- sary. Light tip prune for bushiness. Mulch with pine bark, pine chips or organic mulches. Water regularly until established. Prune after flowering or in the warmer months.
