Persimmon 'Hyakumo' - Astringent (eat when soft)

Synonyms: 'Hyakume', 'Fuji'.

Large. Fruit size:

Shape: Round.

Skin: Dark orange.

Flesh: Dark flesh if seeds are present.

Flavour: Sweet, when fully ripe.

Pollination: Another cultivar is required for cross-pollination. 'Dai Dai Maru' is recommended. Pollen variant.

Foliage: Rich green turning to rusty orange tones in autumn.

Tree habit: Vigorous. A small rounded tree.

Maturity: Mid-season.

Comments: Used for fresh fruit, drying and cooking. Possibly more suited to cooler climates than other cultivars.
