Sow thinly in rows 25cm (10in) apart. Cover lightly with 5mm (¼in) of soil and keep moist. Thin if necessary. Seedlings appear in 5-8 days.
Keep beds moist and weed-free. Pick when young and tender to prevent pithy cores.
Sow small amounts every 2-3 weeks for a steady supply of fresh crops. Eat right out of the garden or slice lengthwise to add into sandwiches.
