Also known as the Forest Lily, Veltheimia bracteata is a summer dormant bulb producing dense spikes of tubular flowers in late winter or spring.
An upright spike of drooping, pink or red tubular flowers is produced from the centre of a rosette of wavy, glossy green leaves.
Prefers a rich, well-drained soil in a shady or semi shaded position.
Plant bulb at or just below ground level and leave undisturbed for several years.
Apply a general slow release fertiliser during the growing season. Mulch well.
Drought tolerant.
Attracts bees & birds.
