Stunning Australian native tree, commonly known as the Coral Gum, producing spectacular clusters of colourful flowers over many months while attracting an abundance of native birds and pollinators.

Eucalyptus torquata is a highly ornamental small tree featuring an upright growth habit with a moderately dense crown of attractive grey-green lance-shaped foliage. Its distinctive trunk displays rough grey-black bark, contrasting beautifully with the smooth grey-brown branches. From spring through to mid-summer, clusters of reddish flower buds open into masses of striking pink blossoms, although flowers may also appear in shades of white, cream or deep red. Rich in nectar and pollen, the long-lasting flowers are a magnet for honeyeaters, bees and other beneficial wildlife.

Plant Care

Plant in a full sun position in well drained soil. Water regularly during establishment, then only during extended dry periods. Once established, Coral Gum is drought tolerant and requires very little maintenance. Prune only to remove dead or damaged branches and to maintain a strong framework if required. Feed with a low phosphorus native plant fertiliser during spring if growing in poorer soils.
