Plant Care
Plant in a full sun to part shade position in fertile, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Full sun will encourage the most prolific flowering. Water regularly during establishment, then provide occasional deep watering during extended dry periods once established. Install a strong pergola, trellis or supporting structure to accommodate its vigorous growth. Apply a quality slow-release rose fertiliser in spring and mulch well to conserve moisture. Unlike repeat-flowering roses, Yellow Banksia Rose flowers mainly on mature wood, so prune immediately after flowering to maintain shape, control size and encourage new growth for the following season. Avoid heavy winter pruning, as this may remove developing flower buds.
Rosa banksiae 'Lutea' Yellow Banksia Rose is one of the most spectacular spring-flowering climbing roses, combining masses of golden-yellow blooms, graceful cascading growth and exceptional hardiness to create an unforgettable feature in Australian gardens.
