The Cootamundra Wattle or Acacia baileyana
A fast growing shrub up to 5m tall by 3m wide, it is covered in golden yellow fluffy ball shaped flowers in winter, followed by edible wattle seeds in late spring. Considered an environmental weed in some parts of Australia, where it has escaped gardens and into the natural bushland, it thrives on neglect.
