Care

Apples are hardy trees that will survive in tough conditions once established. In order to get the best crop, it is best to prune young trees to create an open canopy of strong branches that can support heavy future crops. After 3-4 years, prune lighting in summer to control keep the tree to a manageable size and so you can net the tree to keep birds from your crop. Fertilise in spring and autumn and provide supplementary irrigation in the heat of summer for best yields. This variety has proven to be very disease resistent and displays vigorous growth. Trees are grafted on M26 rootstock, a dwarfing rootstock ideal for espalier and small gardens. Trees grown on this rootstock generally fruit from 2-3 years of age.
