Plant Care

Plant in a well-drained soil enriched with organic matter in a position receiving morning sun and protection from the hottest afternoon sun. Although more adaptable than many Daphne varieties, avoid poorly drained soils. Water regularly during establishment, then maintain consistent moisture without allowing the soil to become waterlogged. Apply mulch to help retain moisture and keep the roots cool, keeping mulch away from the stem. Feed lightly with a slow-release fertiliser in spring after flowering. Avoid excessive pruning, removing only damaged or lightly shaping after flowering if required.
