Magnolia 'Burgundy Star™' 330mm Pot

A stunning upright magnolia producing masses of rich claret red flowers on a remarkably narrow tree, making it the perfect feature for smaller gardens and tight spaces.

Magnolia 'Burgundy Star™' is a spectacular deciduous magnolia selected for its deep burgundy-red blooms and naturally slender growth habit. Flowering from late winter into spring, the elegant goblet-shaped flowers create a striking display before the fresh green foliage emerges. Reaching approximately 3 metres tall but only 1 metre wide after 10 years, this exceptional variety is ideal where height is desired without sacrificing valuable garden space.

Its compact columnar form makes Burgundy Star™ an outstanding choice for feature planting, screening, avenues and contemporary landscapes, delivering dramatic seasonal colour with minimal maintenance.

Plant Care

Choose a full sun position where the tree has room to reach its mature height. Plant in deep, crumbly, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter to encourage strong establishment. Water regularly during the first year, especially through warm weather and extended dry periods. Once established, Burgundy Star™ requires only occasional watering during prolonged drought. Apply a controlled-release fertiliser each spring and maintain a layer of mulch around the root zone to retain moisture and keep roots cool, ensuring mulch is kept away from the trunk.

Magnolia 'Burgundy Star™' combines spectacular claret red blooms with a beautifully slender form, making it one of the finest feature trees for modern Australian gardens where space is at a premium.
