Cymbidium Orchids are easily grown orchids and can grow and flower with very little care under a wide range of conditions. Give them a little more care and they will respond incredibly well.
The flowering time is long and can last 5 to 12 weeks depending on the hybrid.
Position: best in pots and protected from rain and frost. Cool and shaded in warm climates and covered, protected areas in cold climates. General rule is in a partially shaded position under trees, patios and unheated greenhouses.
Repotting: Every 2 years into quality orchid bark, removing old and dead roots.
Fertilising: Use fertiliser formulated for orchids. Apply slow release all year round and a liquid fertiliser in the warmer months.
Flowering: From young plant to flowering plant if grown under ideal conditions usually flower within 3 years.
