Clematis Allanah
Flower Size: 15-20cm. Height: 1.8-2.4m.
Description: Allanah is a real monster plant and worthy of growing for its plentiful foliage and attractive flowers. The flower is a bright ruby red single, approximately 15-20cm in diameter. Suitable for growing on a trellis or through small to medium sized shrubs. An easy variety to grow, Allanah needs plenty of room to really show off!
Growing Tips: Keep moist but not wet at all times. Allanah responds well to pruning after flowering and can be cut to two thirds its size or less if required. Allanah will reflower about eight weeks after pruning during the warmer months. Always fertilise with a well balanced fertiliser after pruning. Not ideally suited for a hot or deeply shaded position. Pruning Group: Pruning group 3. Flowering: Late spring to autumn.
Pruning: HARD
Prune this group to a strong set of buds, between 8 and 30cm from the ground in late winter.
Do not cut into older woody
growth, but prune to just above
the previous season's growth.
