One of the most popular white flowering, shade loving Azaleas the -Aline- has gorgeous, large, crisp white flowers from late autumn through to spring.
Cultural
Prefers a part to full shade position with a well-drained, humus rich soil that is slightly acidic. Is hardy once established. Prune after flowering to maintain a compact shape, mulch well during extended dry periods and fertilise with an Azalea specific or a complete organic fertiliser in spring and late summer. If flowers are becoming mushy this might be a sign of petal blight, pick off and dispose of then treat with appropriate fungicides. Azaleas are also susceptible to insect attack treat with appropriate pesticides.
Landscape Uses
Perfect for formal gardens, is a lovely container flowering specimen and can be brought indoors for short periods to enjoy the display. Works well as a flowering border and planted with other traditional favourites such as Camellias and Magnolias.
