Hakea Burrendong Beauty is a hardy hybrid (Hakea myrtoides × Hakea petiolaris) valued for its spreading habit, attractive evergreen foliage and abundance of nectar-rich blooms. During winter and early spring, the branches are covered with beautiful pink and cream flowers that provide colour when many other plants are dormant. The flowers are highly attractive to honeyeaters and other nectar-feeding birds, making this an excellent addition to wildlife-friendly gardens.

Plant Care

Plant in a full sun to part shade position in well drained soil. Water regularly during establishment, then only during extended dry periods. Lightly prune after flowering if shaping is required to maintain a dense, tidy habit. Feed with a low phosphorus native plant fertiliser during spring for healthy growth and prolific flowering.
