Plant Care

Plant in a full sun position protected from strong winds in fertile, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Dig the planting hole twice as wide and slightly deeper than the root ball, then mulch well to retain moisture while keeping mulch clear of the trunk. Water deeply during establishment and through prolonged dry periods. Apply a quality controlled-release fertiliser annually in spring. If required, prune lightly and shape the upper branches immediately after flowering. Young plants may take a few seasons for the flowers to develop their full size and rich colour.

Magnolia 'Black Tulip™' is one of the most spectacular modern magnolias, combining enormous black-purple blooms, compact growth and exceptional garden performance to create a truly unforgettable feature tree for Australian gardens.
